My Girl Lollipop was inspired by the movie (E lollipop). A movie shown during the 1960’s, an era of racism both in South Africa and the United States of America. The movie tells about two friends, one white and one black, and how difficult that type of friendship was back then. I wanted to depict the joy and freedom this little girl feels in South Africa today.
